Missouri Press Association
The Missouri Press Association undertook a project to make a 10 foot tall plaque to replace some existing lettering
on a wall on the outside of their building. The plaque was designed to fill a large space outlined with stonework.
This impressive plaque is the largest bronze plaque that our foundry has made to this point. This bronze is nearly 10' tall and approx 4' wide
and weighs over 500 pounds. In the photos below you will see Morris Shepherd and Justin Butler from the foundry actually installing the plaque with the help of two local sign company employees.
The photos are in order of how they installed the giant plaque. If you have any questions about this project feel free to call or e-mail us.
Here is the follow up e-mail from the customer:
Russ, Char,
The installation is complete! Plaque looks absolutely fantastic!
10 degrees or so here this morning. Fortunately, not much wind.
Two men from Columbia Sign Service assisted your crew.
Six brass bolts snapped during initial installation of the plaque.
A trip to the hardware store for stainless steel bolts, and the project was
completed. Used 8 stainless bolts to secure the plaque. Total time: about
2.5 hours from start to finish.
I took lots of photos. Will send to you.
Many thanks for your help on this project. It's a fabulous addition to our
building.
Sincerely,
Doug
